How we research, write, review, and maintain the content on this site. Every health decision you make should be informed by content you can trust.
How We Choose Topics
Every topic published on The Biological Edge addresses a genuine information need in men's biological optimization. We prioritize topics where the existing online content is incomplete, outdated, or lacks primary research citations. We do not publish content purely because it has high search volume — if we can't add genuine value, we don't write it.
How We Research
All clinical claims are supported by peer-reviewed research, primarily sourced from PubMed. Every clinical article includes a minimum of 5 citations to primary research sources. We do not cite other blogs, YouTube videos, or secondary sources as evidence — we always trace back to the original study. When research is emerging, limited, or contradictory, we say so explicitly.
The Medical Review Process
All articles in the hormones, peptides, labs, and recovery pillars are reviewed by a licensed physician before publication. The medical reviewer checks clinical accuracy, citation appropriateness, completeness of safety warnings, and whether claims overstate the underlying research. The reviewer does not check writing style, affiliate recommendations, or lifestyle opinions.
How We Keep Content Current
Every clinical article is reviewed within 12 months of publication. The 'Last Updated' date is displayed prominently on every article. When new research changes our understanding of a topic, we update the article and note the change. We never let clinical content go stale — our medical reviewer conducts a content audit every 6 months.
Affiliate Disclosure & Editorial Independence
The Biological Edge earns revenue through affiliate partnerships. Every page containing affiliate links includes a clear disclosure banner. Our editorial standards are separate from our commercial relationships — we only recommend products that Todd has personally used or that meet our evidence-based evaluation criteria. We will never recommend a product solely because it pays a higher commission.
Corrections & Contact
If you find an error in any article — factual, citation, or otherwise — we want to know. Corrections are processed within 48 hours of verification. We take accuracy seriously because our readers make real health decisions informed by this content. Contact us at contact@thebiologicaledge.com with corrections or questions.
Content Voice
What we always do.
We cite the specific study when making a research claim. Not “studies show” — the specific study, the journal, the year, the direct link.
We acknowledge uncertainty where it exists. “The research here is mixed” or “long-term data is limited” appear throughout our content because honesty about the limits of evidence builds more trust than false certainty.
We distinguish experience from evidence. Todd’s personal protocols are clearly labeled as personal experience. Research findings are clearly labeled as research. We never conflate the two.
We never make absolute health claims. “Research suggests X may support Y” — not “X will fix Y.” This is not hedging. This is accuracy.
We give you a clear recommendation at the end of every piece. We don’t end with “it depends.” We tell you what we’d tell a close friend.
